Service with a Smile
Church in the Park
One of my favorite service opportunities has been volunteering with Church in the Park. We met weekly in parks in low-income areas of Pittsburgh with the intent of getting to know the community. We would play games, sing songs, share bible stories, and eat snacks together. This was one of my favorite parts of my week for the four years I was involved.
National School Project
I currently work with public high school club leaders in the area to help them discover what they believe, why they believe it, and how to verbalize that to others. We help them run their clubs better through hosting events and well-done promotion. I have have the privilege of working with Anaheim High School and Pacifica High School.
School Board Representative
During my junior and senior years of high school I had the unique opportunity to serve as the school board representative for my graduating class. I attended monthly school board meetings, represented the common opinions of high school students, and brought current issues to the attention of the board.
